Happy New Year!
I would like to start by thanking you for your hard work and flexibility during 2020. We know that it wasn’t easy and that there were disappointments over canceled plans and inability to raise funds. We appreciate that you weathered those disappointments and challenges, as the role of friends groups and volunteers is an important one for our state parks and forests and the millions of visitors who visit them.
As we head into 2021, we need to remain flexible in this changing landscape. Look for opportunities for thinking outside of the box—such as the Friends of Laurel Hill's ‘drive in bluegrass concert,’ in which a limited number of tickets were sold. Or the Friends of Kings Gap who hosted a Fall Harvest Day through ticket sales or their contactless native plant sale.
Meetings will need to remain remote for some time—please reach out to Pam if you would like her to set up a Zoom meeting. If you are meeting remotely through your own Zoom account, please let us know as we would love to attend.
If there are ways that we can assist you that we haven't thought of, please let us know!
Yours in the Outdoors,
