Dear {{Constituent First Name}}:

Last month got away from us—in fact, I am wondering where April went and May is disappearing as quickly! Perhaps you had the same experience with time slipping away. I saw that many of you had Earth Day events—hopefully you were able to accomplish your goals before the rain began. While it may have disrupted festivities, many areas of the state are below on rainfall and the soaking helped bring levels up as well as reduced fire danger.

The "season" as they say is upon us. We see you kicking things in gear with the volume of check requests being made! Please remember that check requests received by Wednesday will be cut that same week. Checks received on Thursday will roll over to the follow Thursday. If you need something for an upcoming event, please plan ahead.

Yours in the Outdoors,

TRAINING

Thank you to those who joined us for various training sessions over the first three months of the year. With the exception of the Chairs/Vice Chairs, the videos of the sessions are on the Friends Resources page of the website. If you are a secretary, treasurer, or social media contact for your chapter, we would encourage you to check out the appropriate video.

Results of the survey on training needs/wishes are being tabulated as well and we have a few offerings in the making, including the anticipated return of the Chapter Retreat!

KNOW

All this week (May 14-21) is #ILoveMyStateParkWeek, a national endeavor to raise awareness of the value of state parks (and forests). If you post any social media during that time, please use the hashtag.

May 23-31 is Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests Week (#PaStateParkAndForestWeek, #ProtectOurParksAndForests). Feel free to use these hashtags during that week.

We said good-bye to Brian on April 28th and hello to Tasha Ferris as the new public engagement coordinator. She and Brian overlapped for a few days; she is getting her feet under her, finding an apartment (she is relocating from NY, but is a PA gal), and you will soon hear from her.

SHARE

There are some amazing new guest blogs on the news section of the PAParksAndForests.org webpage. Feel free to use these blogs to populate your social media or to share with interested people. If you have an idea for a blog—either written by you or a contact—please let us know!
